On June 25th, 2021, at SNU Asia Center, Dr. Wonkyu Shin, a researcher at the Institute of Economics and Business, was invited to talk and have a seminar about the aid system of countries in transition. Analysis from the point of view of the recipient countries is useful to understand the effectiveness of foreign aid. The effective implementation of the SDGs also emphasizes the ownership and participation of recipient countries within the development partnership framework. He put forward ideas on the areas of the ODA management system where development finances are concentrated and inflowed; for example, these areas should be investigated thoroughly. By comparing three partner countries of South Korea’s development project, he pointed out structural analysis, understanding that this management system should be done before the development project starts and when it is designed.
